 Debra Van Every, CMP, CHME
President
Debra began Resort Destinations in 1996 after a career in hospitality sales and marketing with a wide variety of hotel chain franchises. With over 20 years of experience, a keen business sense and innovative vision, she had a solid foundation for launching a successful business. Since establishing Resort Destinations, Debra strives to see that the company remains on the cutting edge of meeting planning industry. This was accomplished in part by earning her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and Certified Hospitality Marketing Executive (CHME) designations. Under Debra’s guidance, the Resort Destinations team organizes large and small domestic meetings, international meetings, and continuing education meetings. She has assembled a staff with knowledge of countless worldwide meeting destinations. Debra is involved in several professional and civic organizations including membership in Meeting Professionals International, Professional Conference Management Association, and Rotary International. In addition, she serves on advisory boards for Visit Florida and Plan Your Meetings magazine.

Mary Kernan
Mary Kernan moved from Charlotte, NC to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Finance and minors in French and Spanish. After graduation she worked as a legal assistant at a small civil law firm before joining Resort Destinations in 2005. As a planner, Mary is able to combine her passions for travel and language. She plans to earn her CMP designation in the next year.
Ashley Zimtbaum
Ashley Zimtbaum moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University where she would work towards a degree in Communications, with a concentration in public relations. The last semester of her senior year she took part in an internship with the Carolina Hurricanes' ticket sales department. It was through great connections with this position that landed her a job with Resort Destinations. She has now been part of the staff for 3 1/2 years. As a meeting planner, she is currently working towards earning her CMP certification.
Claudia K. Rhodes
Claudia is a native New Yorker. Her family moved to the Raleigh area in the late 1970s. She is a 1980 graduate of East Carolina University and began her career in the travel industry in 1984. Claudia joined Resort Destinations in early 2008, bringing a vast knowledge of the travel industry to the team.
